Millbrook Expands into Real Estate

Over the last nine years Millbrook has worked with Livingstone Realty, but recent changes to the Real Estate Act has enabled Millbrook to amicably end the relationship and develop its own company.

Millbrook Property and Development Manager Ben O’Malley described the development as an exciting milestone in the resort’s history.

“Millbrook is now investing in the future of the real estate industry within the resort, which we believe will benefit both vendors of properties being on-sold and Millbrook’s own property developments,” he said.

The volume of property within the resort being re-sold has continued to grow annually as property values have increased and property numbers have increased. This has grown from $11 million in 2001 to $23 million in 2009, figures which exclude the new development being sold.

Mr O’Malley said he believed the move in-house would strengthen and bring more equity to the Millbrook brand.

“The business is now of a size where Millbrook has the confidence to invest further in this new business venture, which will see marked improvements in presentation of our sales office and its marketing collateral. We see this as an investment in the future of real estate at Millbrook,” he said.

The move in-house comes with a number of benefits for clients including the recently refurbished sales office opening seven days a week compared to the previous five. The Millbrook sales team has also been bolstered with the appointment of Teresa Chapman.

Mr O’Malley said Ms Chapman brought a “wealth” of knowledge to the company having previously worked in real estate in the Queenstown region.

“She works extremely well alongside our existing salesman Austin Bragg with whom she has worked in the past.”

Millbrook is also strengthening its relationship with external local agencies and working on Australian marketing and sales distribution channels. The Millbrook Realty team looks forward to servicing the requirements of its membership community.
