Tell Us About Yourself
My aim in my personal and professional life is to be 1% better than I was yesterday.
Over the years I’ve held a variety of roles at Millbrook from Hotel Manager to Sales and Revenue Manager, which is his current position. While these positions are different in outlook and approach, they deeply rely on each other. The exciting challenge of taking on new positions, along with my strong passion for sales has kept me at Millbrook for over 13 years. Having a background in Operations, Sales and Finance enables me to hit targets without compromising other facets of the business. I push hard to achieve my goals and I pride myself on delivering results, should it be at work or through competitive sports - I have played handball at an international level and competed in Brazilian Jiujitsu. I am constantly looking at ways to push my limits both in and out of the workplace.
What is your typical day at Millbrook like?
Variety is the spice of life, and my days are typically spent on juggling a number of tasks. From responding to client emails to meeting with the Reservations and Events teams, before enjoying the tasty staff lunch and a healthy discussion on Game of Thrones! I then delve into forecasting, rate setting, reporting on business performance, contract negotiations and meeting with clients and partners. Then it is home to the animals at beautiful Pisa Moorings.
What do you like most about your job?
There are two main things I love about my current role, the environment and the people. It is a very dynamic work place and I am always learning something new. But what really makes a job special is the people you work with and the relationships you forge - otherwise it’s just another job. Luckily for me my colleagues are amazing!
What is it that makes Millbrook so special?
Millbrook is an amazing resort in a pristine location. The environment is conducive to being the best you can be.
What is the best advice you have been given?
My two main mantras are –
“Work smarter not harder” and “Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but doesn't get you anywhere.”
