Let's Meet Julia

This superwoman arrived from the motherland (United Kingdom) 13 years ago with her husband in tow.  She is as busy in her personal life as she is at work spending her time running to the tops of the mountains, cycling through the local trails or swimming in Lake Wakatipu (wetsuits are a must!).  If you head to her house you will have a cat, or three, on your knee watching Love Actually, tissues on stand-by!   Keep reading to find out what Julia loves about her job as a Millbrook Real Estate Agent!

Tell Us About Yourself

Originally from London, where I met my husband. We decided to relocate to his home country, New Zealand, to enjoy the outstanding lifestyle that this beautiful country has to offer.  We have lived in Queenstown for the past 13 years.   Jacks Point has featured largely in our lives as my husband and I were one of the first residents to live there way back in 2007 and I previously worked as the Sales Manager for Fletcher Living at Jacks Point.

What does your typical day at Millbrook look like?

As a real estate agent, we assist people through the process of buying and selling land, homes and other properties. In addition to staying current with real estate regulations and trends, we are tasked with a multitude of daily duties and responsibilities, from lead generation and marketing, to open homes and property closings.   What I love about my job is that each day is different, and responding to the changing needs of buyers and sellers often means shifting gears at the last minute.

What do you like the most about your job?

The best part of my role at Millbrook Realty Limited is firstly that Millbrook Resort is a superb picturesque setting, surrounded by nature with stunning views at every turn and our property team is filled with great people who love coming to work every day.

As a real estate agent, you also get to put your interpersonal skills to work all of the time. Sometimes it happens at networking events, sometimes at the office, and sometimes over coffee or lunch. You’ll work and socialize with business colleagues, affiliates, partners, and new clients. Meeting new people is one of the great aspects of the real estate business. Every day presents an opportunity to meet someone new.

What makes Millbrook so special?

What could be better that an award winning five-star resort that sits within over 650 acres of sculpted parkland, surrounded by the mountains of the Wakatipu basin as an office!

As they say this is 'Paradise on earth whatever the season'.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

I have always admired Opera Winfrey and her journey to the successful women she is today. She has often stated that her definition of luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

"My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment, puts you in the best place for the next moment".
