Let’s Meet Katie!
Katie embarked on a back packing adventure in 2008 to see the world and after arriving in Queenstown she decided that this was the place for her! How could you not love the snow capped mountains, clear crisp vistas and fantastic walking trails, When she is not ensuring Millbrook's family has all the support and development they need she is out on the trails with her friends or planning her next adventure.
Tell Us About Yourself
As Millbrook's People & Culture Manager my role is to provide colleagues with advice, support and expertise on all employee related matters. At Millbrook our business has a continued focus to improve on our guest experiences, and it is my responsibility to plan and develop new opportunities that will enhance and maximise our employee’s work experience throughout their Millbrook journey. Moreover, ensuring all team members are supported to achieve their best results both personally and professionally.
What does your typical day at Millbrook look like?
Every day is extremely unique here at Millbrook. In addition to dealing with everyday issues relating to performance management and recruitment, I also manage the resort's workplace safety plan, wellness workshops for team members, employee benefits, motivation and resort-wide learning and development.
I also get to dive into exciting project work, such as implementing a new time attendance system, and initiating new programmes to enhance communication and learning opportunities for our team members.
What do you love most about your job?
I absolutely love my role because of the people - we have an amazing, diverse and really inclusive team. I also love that Millbrook is a family owned business. You feel part of the family here and have a real strong sense of belonging. It's amazing to work at Millbrook.
What makes Millbrook so special?
Millbrook has a wonderfully welcoming vibe. It's not just the 650 acres of stunning fairways and tranquil gardens that make this place so special, it really is the people. Our team are the heart of the business. Everyone is so friendly, happy and deeply committed to delivering the very best guest experience. This is validated daily by all the praise and wonderful feedback our resort visitors share with us.
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
From a young age my brother always taught me to treat people how you would like to be treated, with respect and kindness. I live by these values and adopt these in the Millbrook culture and ethos.
