Top tips for looking after your body and mind 


As we move further into 2020 it can be hard to keep your New Year’s resolutions on track especially when you are back in your daily routine.  We have interviewed Millbrook Resort's Wellness Manager, Michelle Batchelor, to see her top wellness tips for health and wellbeing.

What is your favourite product in The Spa and why?

It would have to be the Elemis Pro collagen cleansing balm. It is great at removing makeup whilst rehydrating your skin and it smells incredible! It’s like having a spa treatment at home, and a little bit goes a long way.

What’s your daily skin routine?

I know the importance of looking after your skin and to start each day the same, no matter how early the start is.  Procollagen cleansing balm; Dynamic resurfacing face wash (a cleanser that gently exfoliates leaving your skin feeling extra soft); Rehydrating toner; and Marine cream (our best-selling product) which has a gel/ cream texture that is anti-ageing and hydrating.

What is your favourite exercise class?

We have such a variety at Millbrook Resort however our Barre Warrior is a combination of everything I love to do in a class. It’s a fast-paced, full body workout that incorporates dance and weights. What inspired you to work in the wellness industry?

What inspired you to work in the wellness industry? 

I started working in the spa industry after leaving school, which lead me to where I am now. In the spa industry I love the peaceful environment, getting to know clients and help to improve their wellbeing.  I have always been relatively fit but my passion for fitness didn’t really start until my 20’s as I learnt more about the benefits of exercise and how much better it made me feel.  I wanted to learn more so I started a personal training course in 2015 as well as competing in a number of bodybuilding/bikini competitions.

What keeps you motivated in the wellness industry?

My main goal is to create a happy, productive team, as well as getting to know clients and seeing what a positive impact our work has on their lives. We have some of the best spa therapists and personal trainers in the world.  Seeing the work they do with their clients and hearing our clients feedback is very rewarding.

What are your hot healthy eating tips?

It is meal prep, meal prep and meal prep. If I am not organised I get too hungry and binge on the not so good food!  I try to prepare my food throughout the week and relax on the weekends.

What is your favourite food to indulge on?

Without a doubt pizza and pasta.
