Use the shuttle!  Did you know that Millbrook Resort has its very own shuttle?  Don’t get frustrated tying to find a park in Queenstown or Arrowtown. Book yourself on the resort shuttle and sit back and relax as one of our talented team take care of you while you enjoy the sites.   Now that the secret is out you will need to make your bookings early.

The early bird catches the worm!  We all know that you want to lie in bed and rest up on your holiday, but you are missing the best time of the day.  With the sun rising early in the morning getting on the trails in both Arrowtown and Queenstown to enjoy the uninterrupted peace is worth the early morning wake up.  There is a variety of walks for people with different levels of fitness so there are no excuses.

Wine, wine, wine and did we mention wine!  Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris are just some of the varieties that the Central Otago area creates.  Would you like to tickle your taste buds with a drop from one of the local vintages?  Then why don’t you book yourself on one of Millbrook’s Wine Tours which departs from reception.  There are half day, full day or private tours to choose from depending on your activities. Make your booking today.

Enjoy the local markets!  Get amongst the action with several local markets offering a variety of produce, products and entertainment for the whole family!   Enjoy the local fare at the Remarkables Park Market, Creative Queenstown Arts & Craft Market or the Arrowtown Market.  You can even pick up the best local produce for your very own lakeside or mountain picnic.

Millbrook’s Kitchen Garden!  Now that the resort's garden is in its second season there is a huge variety or produce for our guests to view, and if you are lucky you might even get a few tips on how to make sure your tomatoes are the best in your street.  Bring the kids and they can meet our feathered flock of chickens; they might even be lucky enough to pick up an eggcellent gift!   Bookings are essential so make yours now!

Enjoy the water! One of the best ways to experience Queenstown and see it from another angle is from the water.  Depending on your adrenaline levels you can tear it up with one of the many jet boat companies, cruise the lake on a short excursion or make it to the other side of the lake with one of the longer journeys (you can even enjoy a meal).   We nearly forgot to mention that you can also kayak, paddle or aqua bike!  Fun for the whole family.

Hit the slopes! There might not be snow but there is still plenty to do up the mountains.  If you would like to take the leisurely route to the top then both Cardrona and Coronet Peak offer gondola rides up the mountain to take in the breath-taking panoramic views.  If you are an adrenaline junky then you can always make your way downhill on a bike or cart.  Feel like stretching your legs? Then make your way up to Lake Alta for the ultimate picnic with a view.

Music and Street Food! There is nothing better than sitting back and relaxing the afternoon away with some delicious treats and you don’t even need to leave the comfort of Millbrook Resort.  With Smithy’s Smoke House playing host to a number of events this summer it is the place to be.  Let the kids dance away the afternoon while you enjoy your pew on a beanbag with a vino in hand.

If you are lucky enough to have a rental car on hand then this area is your oyster. Enjoy the best the region has to offer by turning on your finest road tripping music and making your way to some of the best local towns that are all within an hour of Queenstown.  Variety is the spice of life so you can choose from Glenorchy, Kingston, Cromwell, Wanaka and Hawea which all have something different to offer.

Central Otago is lucky enough to be a fantastic destination all year round. If you are heading our way this summer then you will enjoy the sun, relaxed atmosphere and endless activities but don’t forget the spring, autumn and winter which also have their own specialities to offer!  We look forward to seeing you at Millbrook Resort whatever the season.
