Meet our talented wedding coordinator who will take your wedding from your dreams to reality.
Tell us about yourself?
I am a proud Central Otago local. I grew up in Alexandra and I have lived in many different places in New Zealand, Australia, and the rest of the world. There is no comparison to the rugged and varied landscape of New Zealand and I’m glad to be home!. I’m probably a little bit different to most of the population down in Queenstown/Arrowtown in that I prefer the quieter lifestyle - making the most of the trails and walks around the area as well as photography, yoga, creating and enjoying good food & coffee and spending time with family and friends.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the opportunity to build relationships and get to know the couples getting married at Millbrook. As a wedding co-ordinator my job is to work with couples to help deliver their vision. I enjoy the varied nature of the work; no two days are the same just like no two weddings are the same and it is really wonderful to be a part of it all.
What is it that makes a Millbrook wedding so special?
Millbrook feels like its own little village. With everything in one place many people take the advantage of the large gathering of family and friends and make it into a multi-day event. It’s such a beautiful slow pace here but there’s still plenty to do onsite and in nearby Queenstown - something to keep everyone happy. I think it goes without saying that the warm friendly service is something that makes a Millbrook wedding pretty special and I feel pretty lucky to work with such lovely people.
Have you got any tips for choosing a wedding theme?
A wedding is a celebration of your love and commitment to each other so my advice would be to choose something that truly reflects who you are both as individuals and as a couple and incorporate that into your theme. It is important to have aspects of your day that are unique, it is the small personal touches and special moments that you will remember the most.
Millbrook has so many beautiful venues to choose from, how do you advise couples to make the most of this stunning location?
Take your time. Slow down and enjoy the experience. All of the details will be taken care of ahead of your arrival so when you arrive you should be in relaxation mode. Definitely take the time to explore the resort - take a yoga class, go for a swim, play some golf, have a massage or just sit and watch the world go by.
