Tell us about yourself?

I love to run and feel the magic of nature. In Fiji, I enjoy going to the markets early in the morning to find fresh vegetables. Green plants and vegetables make me really happy and are also one of the reasons why I love the colour green. I enjoy spending time alone as well as being around my close friends and family from time to time. On my days off, I binge watch k-dramas and try to get as much rest as possible. I enjoy cooking savoury meals and playing friendly games of tennis with my friends. I love a clean space so I am constantly organising my room and watering my plants. I also watch Joel Osteen daily to stay motivated.

What does your typical day at Millbrook look like?

My day usually begins with allocations of either the Deluxe Studios, Suites or Resort Homes, followed by our daily supervisor briefing where we obtain information such as occupancy rates, number of arrivals, and checkouts. I then brief the team on daily operations and reminders from my housekeeping manager. Inspecting arrival rooms is my next priority to ensure guests check in on time with the rooms looking immaculate and at a five star standard. Other duties I do through out the day are keeping track of the teams chart, conducting an audit in the Deluxe Studios and if I’m in the area, submitting service orders to maintenance, responding to requests from reception and guests, securing rooms, and inspecting A2’s in time for arrivals the next day.

What do you love most about your job?

The work I do every day is challenging which makes it interesting. There's always so much going on and you never get bored throughout the day. Also, Millbrook is very diverse and it's exciting to learn about other colleagues culture, language, religion, traditions, and the list goes on.

What is it that makes Millbrook so special?

You don't have to travel the world, the world comes to Millbrook everyday. Millbrook not only cares about guests but also the staff that work behind the scene. It's inspiring to work for an organisation that appreciate and value their staff.

What is the best advice you've ever been given?

My class 7 teacher once told me “discipline will take you further in life” and I constantly share this with friends.

Love yourself first before you love others.

Always be kind.

Whatever you go through in life, good or bad, it's to prepare you for what you asked for.

Cats or dogs?

I love dogs but also don't mind cats.

Favourite movie?

Home (2015) by Tim Johnson.

Favourite place in the world?

There's no place like home so definitely my home country, Fiji- because of the local cuisine, our unique I-taukei culture, natural setting, and just the closeness to family in general.

Favourite food?

Spicy fried chicken or Fiji asparagus cooked in coconut milk. I also love freshly baked bread that's cooked in an open fire.
